Centrum Air Resumes Tashkent-Hambantota This Winter

Uzbekistan’s Centrum Air plans to resume Tashkent–Mattala (Hambantota) in Northern winter 2026/27, last served until January 2025, with two weekly flights on the Airbus A320neo from 28 October 2026, AeroRoutes reported in an item published at 2000 PDT on 31 August 2026 / 0300 GMT on 1 September 2026. The Sri Lankan airport in the file is Hambantota’s Mattala Rajapaksa International.

AeroRoutes listed C6553 leaving Tashkent at 10:00 and arriving Hambantota at 16:35 on Saturdays, and at 10:30 arriving 17:10 on Wednesdays, both on the A320neo. Return C6554 is listed from Hambantota at 18:00 arriving Tashkent at 23:40 on Saturdays, and at 18:45 arriving 00:30 the next day on Wednesdays. Those are the only flight numbers, clock times and weekday codes in the 31 August note. This article does not convert the service to daily.

The type is the A320neo, coded 32N in that snapshot. The A320neo is a single-aisle Airbus with two underwing engines and sharklets; it is not a ceo A320 in this write-up. Seat counts and cabin layouts were not published and are not inferred. Equipment in a schedule file can still change after tickets are issued.

January 2025 is the last-served date AeroRoutes attached. The new start date is 28 October 2026. The gap is not filled here with intervening charters or third-country routings that the 31 August item did not list. Two weekly is the published frequency at the start of the winter season.

Tashkent and Hambantota/Mattala are the only airports named. Centrum Air’s other winter files were not the subject of the 31 August Hambantota note. No technical reason for the pause after January 2025 was given, and none is guessed.

Any illustration with this story is an original scene of an Airbus A320neo in Centrum Air colours, not a photograph of C6553 on 28 October, and it is not a registration. It should not be read as proof of a winter departure already airborne.

Travellers looking at Tashkent–Hambantota from late October should check the operating aircraft on the ticket. If a later file puts a different type or a weekly pattern other than Wednesday and Saturday on C6553/C6554, that would be a new schedule read, not a contradiction of the 31 August AeroRoutes snapshot.
