Air Transat operated the first-ever nonstop flight between North America and Albania on 18 June 2026, launching weekly service between Toronto Pearson and Tirana.
The inaugural flight, TS422, departed Toronto that evening to open a route that runs every Thursday through 8 October 2026, with a block time of about nine hours. The service is operated by an Airbus A330 widebody.
Air Transat is the only carrier offering nonstop service between any North American city and Albania. The launch follows the recent establishment of bilateral air rights between Canada and Albania; more than 36,000 passengers travelled between Toronto and Tirana last year, underscoring demand for a direct link.
