Delta Air Lines will open or shift five notable nonstop markets in October 2026, according to schedule analysis published by Simple Flying on September 22 and corroborated by Bolt Flight on September 23. Cirium Diio data in those reports put Delta at about 5,096 average daily movements in October, up 64 movements (+1.4%) versus October 2025, underscoring steady network growth.
On October 1, Delta returns to Salt Lake City–Moab with daily SkyWest CRJ550 flying. The route pauses on November 30 and is expected to resume around March 8. Delta previously served Moab in 2014–2015 and again in 2021–2023, so the October start is a third try at the Utah leisure market from the Salt Lake hub.
October 6 brings three changes. Austin–San José becomes a brand-new Delta city pair with daily Airbus A319 service, putting Delta into a tech-corridor market where Southwest already flies and where Alaska ended nonstops in 2024. The same day, Delta shifts New York–Bermuda flying toward LaGuardia with four-weekly A319s, moving away from a pure JFK pattern; Delta last served Bermuda in 2007 and again in 2013–2014. Also on October 6, Salt Lake City–Santa Rosa (STS) starts with two daily SkyWest E175s, adding a California airport Delta has not served before, after Avelo’s 2024–2025 presence on related Sonoma County flying.
A fifth October item on the Simple Flying list is Atlanta–Riyadh with Airbus A350-900 service from October 23, planned three-weekly after a denser first week. That long-haul launch depends on Saudi Air Connectivity Program support and was flagged in the same reporting as still carrying execution questions. Domestic October adds do not depend on that Gulf sector.
Austin’s October snapshot underscores why AUS–SJC matters for Delta. The carrier expects about 121 average daily movements at Austin in October—its highest October level on record and roughly 9% above the prior October high. AUS is now among Delta’s most-served airports, and DOT data cited for the year to June 2026 ranked AUS–SJC among Austin’s larger local markets with elevated average fares driven by tech travel.
Memphis and New Orleans flying from Austin ends on October 5 in the same schedule cutover, so the San José launch sits next to pruning elsewhere in Texas. For Salt Lake City, Moab and Santa Rosa extend leisure and Northern California reach without needing a mainline narrowbody on every sector—CRJ550 and E175 cover those spokes while the A319 takes the longer Austin–San José hop.
Until October 1 arrives, the confirmed planning facts are the start dates, aircraft types, and frequencies in the Cirium-based write-ups. Bermuda’s LaGuardia shift and Santa Rosa’s debut are the clearest network news for East Coast and West Coast travelers; Moab is a seasonal leisure return; Austin–San José is the competitive domestic headline against Southwest.
