Embraer has delivered the first Praetor 600E super-midsize business jet to launch partner Flexjet, the fractional operator said on 18 September, about 19 months after a roughly $7 billion agreement covering 182 firm aircraft and 30 options.
Flexjet CEO Michael Silvestro framed the hand-over as a continuation of a partnership that began in 2003, saying Embraer’s innovation on the Praetor 600E lets the company meet and exceed owner expectations. Embraer Executive Jets president and CEO Michael Amalfitano called the delivery evidence of a longstanding relationship and of Flexjet’s confidence in next-generation cabin features on a proven Praetor platform.
At Flexjet’s request, the first 600E carries Smart Window technology and a 42-inch 4K OLED cabin monitor for video conferencing and high-resolution streaming. Those cabin options matter for fractional operators that sell productivity as much as seat-miles: owners expect office-grade connectivity on coast-to-coast and transatlantic-capable super-midsize missions.
Flexjet expects 12 Praetor 600E deliveries by year-end, with the first Praetor 500E also due later in 2026 while Phenom 300E light jets continue to arrive. That multi-bin intake schedule lets Flexjet refresh light and super-midsize products together rather than stranding owners on older cabin standards.
Embraer unveiled the Praetor 600E and 500E in February 2026 as enhanced versions of the Praetor family. In April 2026 the 600E received type certification from Brazil’s ANAC, the FAA and EASA—clearing simultaneous entry paths for Brazilian, U.S. and European operations and reducing the usual staggered-certification lag that can delay fractional deployments.
Flexjet was previously selected as fleet launch customer for the original Praetor 500 and 600 in 2019. The February 2025 order that underpins the current stream was described at the time as Flexjet’s largest executive-jet commitment and Embraer Executive Jets’ largest single order, combining Phenom 300E light jets with unspecified quantities of Praetor 500 and 600 family aircraft.
For the business-aviation market, the 600E delivery matters less as a one-off ceremony than as proof the refreshed Praetor line is moving from certification into revenue service with a high-utilization fractional fleet. Cabin connectivity upgrades and multi-authority certification reduce early-adopter friction for North American and European owners who need the airplane to be legally and commercially ready on day one.
Embraer’s pitch for the E-series Praetors centers on experience upgrades rather than a clean-sheet airframe: improved passenger systems on a platform already known for runway performance and cabin volume in the super-midsize class. Flexjet’s dozen-plus 600E target for 2026, plus 500E and Phenom streams, suggests the operator is standardizing cabin product across light and super-midsize bins so owners see a consistent brand experience when they step up in size.
No airline-style route network is attached to a fractional delivery, but the timing coincides with continued strong demand for owned and shared large-cabin capacity on transcontinental U.S. and Europe–U.S. city pairs where operators value range, runway performance and cabin tech more than airline-style density. The first 600E is the opening aircraft in what Flexjet and Embraer both describe as a multi-year fleet transformation rather than a token launch frame.
