JAL Expands Osaka Itami-Hokkaido Flights This Winter

Japan Airlines plans to expand Osaka Itami-Hokkaido flying in Northern winter 2026/27, including converting two summer seasonal routes to year-round, AeroRoutes reported from a schedule review published at 1900 PDT on 31 August 2026. Three Itami-Hokkaido city pairs are listed, led by a daily Boeing 737-800 on Osaka Itami-Asahikawa from 25 October 2026.

The Asahikawa file is JL2111 leaving Itami at 08:45 and arriving Asahikawa at 10:30, with JL2112 returning at 11:10 and reaching Itami at 13:10, daily on the 737-800. Osaka Itami-Obihiro is listed daily from 1 December 2026 on the Embraer E190 as JL2133/JL2134. Osaka Itami-Memanbetsu is listed daily from 1 February 2027 on the E190 as JL2103/JL2104. AeroRoutes said Asahikawa and Memanbetsu had previously been scheduled as summer seasonal.

The 31 August item also noted other Itami increases from 25 October 2026: Osaka Itami-Okinawa rising from two daily to between four and six daily, and Osaka Itami-Sapporo New Chitose rising from five daily to between six and nine daily. Those frequency bands are the only ones published; this article does not pick a single number inside the range or name a type for Okinawa or Sapporo in that sentence, because AeroRoutes did not attach one there.

Three different Hokkaido airports are in the file: Asahikawa on the 737-800, Obihiro and Memanbetsu on the E190. The 737-800 is a two-engine Boeing narrowbody; the E190 is a two-engine Embraer regional jet. They are not interchangeable in this write-up. Seat counts and cabin layouts were not in the 31 August snapshot and are not inferred. Times can still move after tickets are issued.

Any illustration with this story is an original scene of a Boeing 737-800 in Japan Airlines colours, matching the Asahikawa daily assignment, not a copy of a particular JL2111 photograph and not an E190. It is not a registration. Narita and Haneda are not the origin in this filing; Itami is.

Travellers using Itami for Hokkaido this winter should check the operating aircraft on the ticket. If a later file puts an E190 on Asahikawa or a 737-800 on Obihiro, that would be a new schedule read, not a contradiction of the 31 August AeroRoutes snapshot. The year-round conversion applies to the two routes AeroRoutes named as former summer seasonals; it does not, in that item, rewrite JAL's entire Hokkaido map.
