Riyadh Air is deepening its push into Southeast Asia. During the northern winter 2026/27 season the Saudi start-up carrier plans to increase service on its Riyadh - Bangkok Suvarnabhumi route, according to schedule data published by AeroRoutes.
Under the latest filing, Riyadh Air will add a fourth weekly flight from 1 November 2026, before stepping the route up to a full daily operation from 9 November 2026. The build-up gives the airline a steady ramp toward everyday service between the two capitals in a matter of weeks.
The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner operates the route, flown as RX853 from Riyadh with the return as RX854 from Bangkok. The twin-aisle 787-9 gives Riyadh Air the range and cabin flexibility to serve a leisure- and business-heavy market like Thailand while offering a premium onboard product from day one.
Bangkok is one of the most contested long-haul leisure destinations in Asia, drawing capacity from carriers across the Gulf, Europe and the wider region. Moving to daily flights signals that Riyadh Air sees enough demand between Saudi Arabia and Thailand to justify a marquee frequency on the route as the airline expands its network.
For Riyadh Air, still in the early chapters of building out its map, adding a daily wide-body rotation to a headline destination is a meaningful step. It underlines the carrier's strategy of standing up frequent, high-quality service on key trunk routes rather than thin, occasional flying.
Travellers planning trips between Riyadh and Bangkok late in 2026 will have progressively more options as the schedule fills in through November, with the daily 787-9 service anchoring the route into the winter season.
