Air Peace Schedules Lagos-Sao Paulo 777 Flights

Air Peace has filed a Boeing 777-200ER schedule between Lagos and Sao Paulo Guarulhos for early October 2026, currently as a single round trip.

Nigerian carrier Air Peace has filed a schedule for service between Lagos (LOS) and Sao Paulo Guarulhos (GRU) in October 2026, listing a Boeing 777-200ER on what is currently a one-time operation rather than a recurring pattern.

According to the filing, flight P47799 is scheduled to leave Lagos at 11:00 and arrive at Sao Paulo Guarulhos at 17:00 on October 1, 2026. The return, P47800, departs Guarulhos at 12:00 on October 10, 2026 and arrives back in Lagos at 23:00. The nine-day gap between the outbound and inbound legs means the schedule as filed is not a conventional scheduled rotation.

The filing was published on August 18, 2026 and, like any entry in airline reservation systems, remains subject to change. Carriers routinely load schedules of this kind well ahead of a firm commercial decision, and a single round trip separated by more than a week is a pattern more often associated with a charter, a positioning requirement or a specific one-off demand event than with the launch of a regular commercial route.

What the filing does confirm is the equipment. The Boeing 777-200ER listed for the operation is a large twin-engine widebody with the range to link West Africa and southeastern Brazil non-stop. The South Atlantic crossing between Lagos and Sao Paulo is one of the shorter intercontinental sectors available to a widebody of that size, and the type's payload capability leaves ample margin on a route of this length.

Direct air links between West Africa and South America remain thin. Despite the relatively short geographic distance across the South Atlantic, most traffic between Nigeria and Brazil today routes via Europe, the Gulf or North Africa, adding hours and a connection to the journey. Any non-stop service between Lagos and Sao Paulo therefore stands out, even as a single rotation.

Air Peace has spent recent years expanding beyond its West African core, adding longer-haul destinations from its Lagos base and taking on widebody equipment to support them. A Brazil operation, however it is ultimately structured, would extend that reach into a market the airline has not previously served on a scheduled basis.

For now, the practical reading is a cautious one. A schedule filing is a statement of intent within the booking systems, not a confirmed commercial launch, and neither the frequency nor the permanence of the Lagos-Sao Paulo operation is established by the filing alone. Further changes to the dates, timings or aircraft assignment remain possible before October.
