Avianca has filed a wave of international schedule changes for the Northern Hemisphere winter 2026/27 season, with the adjustments centered squarely on its Bogota hub.
The changes, drawn from a comparison of the carrier's schedule filings between June 14 and August 9, 2026, lean heavily toward growth. On the Bogota–Asunción route, Avianca plans to more than double frequencies from 25 October 2026, increasing from three to seven weekly flights operated by Airbus A320ceo and A320neo aircraft.
Several other Bogota routes see added capacity from the same 25 October date. Bogota–Guatemala City rises from 18 to 21 weekly flights on the A320ceo/neo, Bogota–Quito grows from an initially filed 31 to 35 weekly, and Bogota–Toronto Pearson increases from 11 to 14 weekly on the A320neo. Avianca will also maintain a second daily service on Bogota–Fort Lauderdale (A320ceo) and a third daily on Bogota–Orlando (A320ceo/neo).
Long-haul flying to Europe gets a seasonal lift as well. Between 1 December 2026 and 31 January 2027, the airline will operate a routine seasonal increase on Bogota–Barcelona, going from one to two daily flights using the Boeing 787-8.
Not every route grows. Bogota–Guayaquil is being trimmed from an initially filed 32 to 28 weekly flights, a modest pullback against the broader expansion. On Bogota–Valencia, Avianca keeps two daily A320ceo flights, a service that replaces its previous flying to Caracas.
Separately, the airline has scheduled its last San José (Costa Rica)–Cartagena flight for 27 August 2026, ending that point-to-point link outside the Bogota hub.
Taken together, the filing paints a picture of an airline doubling down on Bogota as the anchor of its network, concentrating additional frequencies on high-demand regional and North American routes while fine-tuning capacity elsewhere. Schedule filings can still shift before the season begins, but the direction of travel — more flying from the Colombian capital — is clear.
