Hainan Airlines plans to put the Airbus A321neo onto international flying from October 2026, starting on two routes to and from Beijing Capital, AeroRoutes reported on 31 August 2026 after reviewing the latest schedule filings. The first pairing is Beijing Capital–Bangkok Suvarnabhumi from 10 October 2026, listed as a daily HU7995/HU7996 rotation. The second is Beijing Capital–Osaka Kansai from 9 October 2026, listed five times weekly as HU473/HU474.
AeroRoutes described the move as the airline’s initial international A321neo assignment, rather than a widebody substitution. The filing published on 31 August did not give seat counts, cabin layouts, or the previous equipment on either city pair, and this article does not infer a 203-seat or any other Hainan A321neo layout used on domestic sectors. Equipment in a schedule file can still change after tickets are issued.
Beijing Capital remains the origin named in the international debut. AeroRoutes did not extend the A321neo claim to Haikou, Shenzhen, or other Hainan hubs, and it did not say whether the two October city pairs stay on the type beyond the dates it listed. Bangkok is a daily operation in the file; Osaka is five weekly, not daily. Those frequencies are the only ones treated as news here.
The A321neo is a single-aisle Airbus with sharklets and two underwing engines. Any illustration published with this story is an original scene of that type in Hainan colours, not a copy of a particular departure photograph, and it should not be read as proof of a specific registration or of an October departure already airborne.
Hainan’s wider 2026 network has seen other equipment and frequency files this month, including long-haul reductions at Shenzhen and selected cross-strait widebody upgauges, which AeroRoutes covered in separate items. Those are context, not part of the 31 August international A321neo note. Travellers booked on HU7995, HU7996, HU473 or HU474 from early October should check the operating aircraft on their ticket, because later OAG or Cirium snapshots can still move the type.
Osaka Kansai and Bangkok Suvarnabhumi are the only destinations named in the 31 August item. This article does not add a third city or convert the Osaka five-weekly listing into a daily service. If a later filing puts a 737 or an A330 back on either route, that would be a new schedule read, not a contradiction of today’s AeroRoutes snapshot.
