JetBlue Plans Daily Fort Lauderdale–Caracas on Airbus A320 From February 2027

JetBlue Airways has put a firm winter-and-spring timetable behind its long-flagged Venezuela ambition, filing daily Fort Lauderdale–Caracas flights that are scheduled to begin on February 4, 2027. AeroRoutes reported that the carrier’s operational schedule shows Airbus A320 aircraft on the city pair, with reservations expected to open soon after the filing appeared in early October 2026.

The filed pattern is straightforward: flight B61821 is set to leave Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport at 10:00 and arrive at Simón Bolívar International Airport at 14:24 local time, with return B61810 departing Caracas at 15:40 and landing back in South Florida at 18:22. One daily round trip keeps the service inside JetBlue’s narrowbody network while still offering a true nonstop for the large Venezuelan community in South Florida.

JetBlue first announced its intent to serve Caracas on May 28, 2026, describing the route as subject to U.S. and Venezuelan government approvals. At that time the airline said it hoped to begin before the end of 2026. The February 2027 start date in the schedule filing is therefore later than the original public target, but it is the first concrete operating day, flight numbers and block times to appear in reservation systems data.

Dave Jehn, JetBlue’s vice president of network planning and airline partnerships, said in the May release that Fort Lauderdale continues to serve as the airline’s gateway to the Caribbean and Latin America and that South Florida’s Venezuelan community makes Caracas a meaningful opportunity. Those comments still frame the commercial case: visiting-friends-and-relatives traffic, connections over Fort Lauderdale, and a competitive A320 product with free Fly-Fi, seatback entertainment and complimentary snacks.

Caracas would become JetBlue’s first destination in Venezuela. American Airlines already restored a second daily Miami–Caracas link for mid-October 2026, and Copa Airlines has been rebuilding Panama City–Caracas frequencies. JetBlue’s entry from Fort Lauderdale rather than Miami would give travelers another South Florida gateway and put pressure on one-stop itineraries through Panama or other hubs.

The timing also fits JetBlue’s broader Fort Lauderdale push. In 2026 the airline has layered Colombian cities including Medellín, Cartagena and Barranquilla onto the same focus city, with Cali also in the plan. Adding Caracas extends that northern South America corridor and uses aircraft that already rotate through Fort Lauderdale’s Latin America banks.

Whether tickets go on sale immediately will depend on the remaining government processes JetBlue flagged in May. Until those clear, the February 4 schedule should be read as an operational intent rather than a guaranteed launch. For travelers and airports, though, the filing is the clearest signal yet that JetBlue intends to turn its Venezuela announcement into a daily A320 flight on the Fort Lauderdale–Caracas lane.

If the route holds, it will also test how quickly U.S. carriers can rebuild capacity into a market that was closed to American airlines for years. JetBlue’s bet is that diaspora demand and Fort Lauderdale connections can support a daily narrowbody even without a widebody cabin. The AeroRoutes filing now gives that bet a date, an aircraft type and a pair of flight numbers to watch.
