Vueling Grows Winter 2026-27 With Bilbao–Italy Routes and More Spain Seats

Vueling has published its winter 2026-27 schedule with more seats across Spain, new Bilbao routes to Italy, and several UK airport shifts, according to Euro Weekly News’ October 1 report on the airline’s winter plan.

Winter flying starts October 25. Vueling said it has scheduled about 15 million seats across the network, including 14.5 million in Spain. Domestic flying leads the uplift with roughly 7.2 million seats, about 250,000 more than the prior winter. Links to France rise about 4 percent to roughly two million seats, while Italy grows about 16 percent to 1.6 million seats.

Bilbao, the carrier’s second Spanish base, is planned for more than 1.5 million seats, a 10 percent increase, across 27 destinations. New routes from Bilbao include Rome, Venice, Naples and Turin, with extra flying to Milan. Domestically, Bilbao–Granada resumes, Bilbao–Santiago starts at Christmas, and Málaga and Alicante each gain more than 25 percent more seats.

UK travelers see airport swaps as well as growth. Santiago de Compostela keeps a daily London flight, but all seven weekly services move to Gatwick instead of splitting most frequencies to Heathrow. Bilbao adds London Heathrow twice daily—more than 102,000 seats—on top of about 118,000 seats to Gatwick. Seville’s summer Heathrow link continues through winter with around 50,000 seats beside the existing Gatwick service.

Elsewhere in Spain, Santiago is filed for about 720,000 seats, up 155,000 or 27 percent, across 13 routes after Valencia returned on September 15 at three weekly. A fifth aircraft is planned there from summer 2027. Andalucía is near three million seats across 38 routes from six airports, led by Seville and Málaga. Granada tops 400,000 seats with Bilbao back from October 25 and a new Valencia route from March 20, 2027, three weekly. The Canaries and Balearics each see about 2.1 million seats, with international Balearic seats up 17 percent and Palma–Paris Orly among the larger international gains.

Equipment was not broken out route-by-route in the October 1 consumer summary; Vueling’s network remains Airbus A320-family based. Schedules can change, and Euro Weekly News advised travelers to confirm dates and fares directly with the airline before booking winter family visits or sun breaks.

The report is dated October 1, 2026, and attributes the seat totals and new Bilbao–Italy city pairs to Vueling’s winter announcement. No conflicting carrier denial has appeared. This desk treats the Bilbao–Rome/Venice/Naples/Turin package and the Spain seat uplift as the core story rather than a duplicate of any earlier single-route item under the multi-route umbrella rule.

For leisure planners, the winter book leans into domestic Spain, island sun, and thicker Bilbao–Italy metal while simplifying Santiago’s London airport to Gatwick and giving Bilbao a true Heathrow double daily. That mix aims at both Spanish domestic demand and UK–Spain visiting-friends-and-relatives traffic through the colder months.

Passengers shopping winter sun or visiting family across Spain should watch the October 25 season change for the new Bilbao–Italy launches and the Granada–Valencia spring add that is already on sale for March 2027. Seat maps and fares will firm as the winter inventory opens more fully across Vueling’s sales channels.
