Air Canada Adds New Bedding Across All Cabins

Air Canada is refreshing the bedding and amenities it offers across every cabin, rolling out a new lineup from next month as part of a push to help passengers genuinely rest on long international flights, the airline announced on 15 July, according to AeroTime.

The update includes upgraded duvets and pillows in Signature Class, larger blankets for Premium Economy and Economy passengers, and redesigned amenity kits built with two Canadian brands. The carrier frames the changes as part of a broader effort to help travelers rest during international flights rather than simply endure them.

“We've spent meaningful time with our customers, getting their perspective on what would make a flight more relaxing and restful,” said Jacqueline Harkness, Air Canada's Managing Director of Products & Services. “Then we went to work investing in high-quality products that deliver the very best that leading Canadian partners have to offer.”

Harkness said the refresh grew directly out of conversations with passengers about what would make flying feel more comfortable, and that every item — from the larger Economy and Premium Economy blankets to the new Signature Class duvets — was chosen with restfulness in mind.

A distinctly Canadian identity runs through the program. Air Canada worked with Hunter Amenities, a Canadian hospitality company, to design and manufacture the new kits, with an eye toward making the contents useful well beyond the flight itself. Emphasising home-grown partners is a recurring theme in the airline's product messaging, and the new bedding continues that approach across the cabin.

Comfort and sleep have become an increasingly competitive battleground among long-haul carriers, particularly in premium cabins where travelers pay a significant premium partly for the promise of arriving rested. Bedding, pillows and amenity kits are among the most tangible touchpoints of that experience, and refreshing them across all cabins — not just at the front of the aircraft — signals an attempt to lift the baseline for every passenger.

For Economy and Premium Economy flyers, larger blankets are a modest but noticeable upgrade on long overnight sectors, where the quality of rest can shape a passenger's overall impression of the journey. In Signature Class, the new duvets and pillows are aimed at the segment of travelers for whom sleep is the single most important part of the onboard product.

The rollout is due to begin next month. As with any cabin-comfort initiative, its ultimate impact will be judged not on the announcement but on how the products feel in daily service across Air Canada's international network.
