Air France Adds Guadeloupe-Panama City Route 2026

Air France is expanding its Caribbean regional network with a new nonstop service connecting Pointe-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe, with Panama City. The route is scheduled to launch on 11 December 2026, giving travelers in the French Antilles a direct link to one of Central America's busiest connecting hubs.

The seasonal service will operate twice weekly, on Mondays and Fridays, through 5 March 2027. Air France plans to use an Airbus A320 configured with 170 seats split between Business and Economy cabins. The route forms part of the airline's dedicated Caribbean regional operation, which is based in the French overseas departments rather than being flown from mainland France.

Guadeloupe sits at the heart of Air France's intra-Caribbean strategy. Alongside long-haul links to Paris, the carrier operates a web of regional flights from Pointe-à-Pitre and Fort-de-France in Martinique to destinations across the Caribbean basin and northern South America. Adding Panama City extends that reach toward Central America and plugs the French Antilles into a major hub where onward connections fan out across the Americas.

The choice of the Airbus A320 reflects the mission. The single-aisle jet offers enough range and capacity for a medium-haul regional sector while remaining efficient on a route that will operate only twice a week during the peak Northern winter season. A two-class layout with dedicated Business seating also caters to premium and business travelers moving between the islands and Panama's commercial center.

Seasonal scheduling is common for leisure-oriented Caribbean markets, where demand peaks during the Northern Hemisphere winter as travelers seek warm-weather destinations. By concentrating the service between December and early March, Air France can match capacity to the strongest booking window and reassess the route's performance before deciding on any future expansion.

For Guadeloupe, the new link is a notable addition. Direct services to Central America from the French Caribbean are relatively rare, and a nonstop to Panama City opens up both point-to-point travel and one-stop itineraries toward destinations that would otherwise require lengthy routings through Miami, Bogotá, or European hubs.

The launch continues a broader pattern of network development across the Air France–KLM group, which has been fine-tuning its regional and long-haul maps to concentrate on markets with resilient demand. In the Caribbean specifically, the group has leaned on its French territorial presence to build connectivity that few competitors can match on the same scale.

Air France has said reservations and full schedule details are being made available ahead of the December start. As with any new seasonal route, the frequency and aircraft assignment could evolve depending on demand once the service is up and running.
