EVA Air is returning to India for the first time in nearly two decades, filing a new schedule to resume passenger flights between Taipei Taoyuan and Delhi. The Taiwanese carrier plans to launch the route on 1 December 2026, operating five weekly flights with the Airbus A330-300, subject to government approval.
According to the filed schedule, flight BR367 will depart Taipei at 11:00 and arrive in Delhi at 15:35, while the return leg, BR368, leaves Delhi at 19:55 and lands back in Taipei at 04:20 the following day. The route will operate five times per week during the Northern winter 2026/27 season. EVA Air has indicated that reservations will open soon, though the service still requires the necessary government approvals before sales can be confirmed.
The move marks a significant re-entry into the Indian market for EVA Air. The carrier previously served India between December 2006 and May 2008, when it flew three weekly services between Taipei Taoyuan and Mumbai using Boeing 747 Combi and Airbus A330-200 aircraft. That operation was suspended, and EVA Air has been absent from scheduled passenger service to the country since.
Choosing Delhi rather than Mumbai for the relaunch points EVA Air at the capital region and northern India, a fast-growing catchment for both business and leisure travel. Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport is one of the busiest in Asia and functions as a major connecting point, which can help feed traffic onto EVA Air's onward network across East Asia and, via its Taipei hub, to North America.
The Airbus A330-300 is well suited to the sector. The widebody twin offers a comfortable balance of range and capacity for a medium-to-long-haul route of this length, and it allows EVA Air to offer a full long-haul product, including a premium cabin, without committing the larger capacity of its Boeing 777 fleet on a route that is still being re-established.
India has become one of the world's most closely watched aviation markets, with rapid growth in both domestic demand and international connectivity. Carriers across Asia, the Middle East, and Europe have been adding or expanding services to Indian cities, and EVA Air's return positions it to capture a share of the growing traffic between India and East Asia.
For EVA Air, the Delhi launch fits a broader pattern of network expansion as the airline continues to grow its route map out of Taipei. Re-establishing an Indian gateway strengthens its presence in South Asia and adds another point that can connect through Taoyuan to the carrier's transpacific services.
As the service is still subject to regulatory approval, the schedule, frequency, and aircraft assignment could be adjusted before the December start. EVA Air has said further details will follow once reservations become available.
