Delta Shifts New York–Bermuda Flying to LaGuardia on Airbus A319 From October 6

Delta Air Lines is shifting its New York–Bermuda flying from Kennedy to LaGuardia as part of a cluster of October schedule changes. Simple Flying’s September 22 analysis of Cirium Diio schedule data shows four-weekly Airbus A319 service between LaGuardia and Bermuda beginning October 6, 2026, as the carrier consolidates leisure flying onto the Manhattan-closer airport.

The Bermuda move is one of five Delta routes that start or resume in October with at least five scheduled departures. Alongside LaGuardia–Bermuda, the same filing window covers Salt Lake City–Moab on SkyWest CRJ550s from October 1, Austin–San José on mainline A319s from October 6, Salt Lake City–Santa Rosa on Embraer E175s from October 6, and Atlanta–Riyadh on the A350-900 from October 23.

LaGuardia–Bermuda is not brand-new to Delta’s history. The airline previously served the market in 2007 and again from 2013 to 2014. What is new is the airport choice: Delta is moving the Bermuda product off JFK and onto LGA, a shift that favors corporate and leisure travelers based in Manhattan and Midtown while freeing Kennedy slots for longer-haul banks.

Operations are planned four times weekly on the Airbus A319. The narrowbody keeps trip costs aligned with a short leisure sector while still offering a mainline cabin that many Bermuda travelers prefer over regional metal. Frequency is modest compared with Delta’s denser Caribbean links from Atlanta and New York, but it restores a nonstop option that had sat outside the carrier’s current schedule.

The October package arrives as Delta’s systemwide U.S. activity continues to edge higher. Cirium figures cited by Simple Flying put Delta at roughly 5,096 daily movements in October, up about 1.4 percent versus the same month a year earlier. New city pairs are a small slice of that total, yet they matter for travelers who want nonstops instead of one-stop connections through Atlanta or Boston.

For New York–Bermuda passengers, the practical change is the departure airport. Tickets after October 6 should be checked for LGA rather than JFK, and ground connections into Queens need retiming for travelers who previously used Kennedy’s AirTrain and long-haul feed. Bermuda’s short sector length means the A319’s gate-to-gate time remains competitive with legacy widebody leisure patterns that once dominated the island market.

Competitively, JetBlue and other Northeast carriers remain factors on New York–Bermuda flows depending on season. Delta’s decision to keep mainline A319 metal on the route signals that it still sees enough yield to justify a narrowbody rather than dropping the market entirely when JFK capacity is reallocated.

Elsewhere in the same October wave, Austin–San José and Salt Lake City–Santa Rosa expand Delta’s California reach, while Moab restores a seasonal leisure spoke from Salt Lake City. Those stories are separate network moves; the Bermuda shift is the one that most directly reshapes New York gateway choice for island travelers this autumn.

Customers holding winter tickets should confirm the airport code on both the outbound and return. Schedule filings can still change before launch, but as of Simple Flying’s September 22 report, LaGuardia–Bermuda four-weekly A319 service is in the book from October 6.
