Frontier Airlines is adding a seasonal international route for the upcoming holidays, linking Los Angeles with Guatemala City for a limited window over the 2026–27 winter peak.
According to schedule data published by AeroRoutes, the ultra-low-cost carrier will operate the Los Angeles (LAX) – Guatemala City (GUA) route on a daily basis from December 17, 2026 through January 4, 2027, using Airbus A320neo equipment.
The filed timetable shows flight F9392 departing Los Angeles at 09:51 and arriving in Guatemala City at 16:48. The return, F9393, leaves Guatemala City at 19:38 and touches back down in Los Angeles at 23:10. The service is scheduled as a limited-time holiday operation rather than a year-round addition.
The timing is characteristic of how low-cost carriers approach the year-end peak. Demand between the United States and Central America climbs sharply in late December as families travel to visit relatives over the holidays, and a concentrated block of daily flights lets an airline chase that surge without committing to the route once traffic subsides in January.
Los Angeles is one of the largest origin markets for travel to Guatemala, reflecting deep community ties between Southern California and Central America. A seasonal daily frequency gives holiday travelers a direct option on the roughly six-and-a-half-hour southbound routing during the busiest weeks of the year.
