The service is penciled in once weekly from August 2 through August 23, 2027. Flight IB2371 is shown departing Castellón at 09:40 and arriving Ibiza at 10:50 on Mondays, with return IB2370 leaving Ibiza at 11:40 and reaching Castellón at 12:50 the same day. Those timings leave a compact turn for the ATR72 and keep the route inside a single morning bank that fits leisure day-trip and short-break patterns across Spain’s east coast.
Castellón’s airport on Spain’s Mediterranean coast has spent years chasing leisure traffic that traditionally funnels through Valencia or Barcelona. A nonstop link to Ibiza puts the smaller gateway on a classic summer island pair without requiring Iberia mainline narrowbodies. Air Nostrum already feeds Iberia’s Madrid hub with CRJ and ATR flying; using the ATR72 here matches stage length, runway pragmatism, and summer island demand better than parking an Airbus A320-family jet on a once-weekly leisure tag that would otherwise sit underused between Monday turns.
Ibiza remains one of Europe’s densest leisure airports in high summer, with heavy frequencies from mainland Spain and northern Europe on everything from low-cost Boeing 737s to mainline Airbuses. Adding Castellón does not rewrite that map, but it gives Iberia Group another spoke into the Balearics from a catchment that overlaps only partly with Valencia’s. Coastal towns north of Castellón and inland toward Teruel gain a closer departure point than driving south, even if the Monday-only pattern remains a thin product compared with multi-weekly Valencia–Ibiza flying.
Schedule databases still list the flights as planned, and August 2027 is far enough out that timings, aircraft, or even the route itself can change before tickets firm up. Iberia has not issued a separate consumer press release highlighting Castellón–Ibiza alongside larger network moves from Madrid, which fits the profile of a regional seasonal add-on rather than a flagship long-haul launch.

Monday departures suggest the airline is testing whether Castellón can fill a single weekly island bank without diluting Valencia or Barcelona flows. If loads work, Iberia and Air Nostrum could thicken the pattern in later seasons; if not, the ATR72 can be redeployed to denser regional feeds with little drama and without stranding a mainline jet.
For Castellón, it is a rare chance to appear on Ibiza’s arrivals board with an Iberia flight number and to market Costa Azahar holidays alongside island nightlife. For Ibiza-bound passengers along the Castellón coast, it could mean skipping the drive to Valencia—if the Monday ATR72 survives the year of schedule churn still ahead.
