United Airlines Launches 3 New East Coast Routes Including 30-Year Return to St. Croix

JUST IN

United Airlines has announced the launch of three new routes from its East Coast hubs, marking a significant strategic push into underserved markets and including a historic return to the US Virgin Islands after more than three decades.

The carrier will reestablish air service between Newark Liberty International Airport and Henry E. Rohlsen Airport in St. Croix, USVI — a connection that has been dormant for over 30 years. The route represents United's commitment to reconnecting the Caribbean with major East Coast population centers.

In addition to the St. Croix service, United will introduce nonstop flights from Washington Dulles International Airport to San Jose del Cabo, Mexico, tapping into strong leisure demand from the DC metropolitan area. A new domestic route connecting Dulles to John Wayne Airport in Orange County, California, rounds out the expansion.

The new services will be operated using United's Boeing 737-800 fleet, with schedules designed to optimize connections through the airline's Newark and Washington Dulles hubs. All three routes are expected to launch for the upcoming travel season.

United's expansion comes alongside the carrier's broader European network growth, which includes first-ever nonstop service from the US to Split, Croatia, further cementing its position as the leading transatlantic carrier.
