Etihad Extends Abu Dhabi-Krakow Service Into Late 2027

Etihad Airways has filed Abu Dhabi–Krakow as a longer 2027 season than previously shown, with the Airbus A321LR seasonal service listed from 14 June 2027 through 29 December 2027, AeroRoutes reported on 31 August 2026. The same filing still shows a step-up from three to four weekly flights between 14 June and 4 September 2027.

The four-weekly A321LR pattern is EY163 leaving Abu Dhabi at 02:45 and arriving Krakow at 06:55, and EY164 leaving Krakow at 11:20 and arriving Abu Dhabi at 19:00. AeroRoutes codes the trips as 32Q operating on days excluding Tuesday, Friday and Sunday — that is Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. The site described the 2027 extension as a preliminary schedule filing, not a new Etihad press conference, and it did not publish a load-factor history for the city pair.

Keeping Krakow in the book through late December would take a summer leisure route well into the northern winter, rather than cutting it at the end of the peak. AeroRoutes did not say whether the winter-end dates are a firm commercial decision or a placeholder that later filings could shorten. It also did not publish a seat map for the A321LR on this city pair or name a wet-lease operator. The type in the file is Etihad’s A321LR, not an A380 or a 787.

Etihad already increased other leisure routes in 2026, including a previously reported doubling of Abu Dhabi–Zanzibar in Northern winter 2026, which Aviation Shop News covered as a separate story. The Krakow line is a Central European A321LR service, not a widebody long-haul, and not the same event as Zanzibar. AirlineGeeks on 31 August separately reported that Etihad had launched a “Beyond Borders” campaign aiming at more than 150 destinations over a decade, from a network it said was just over 90 cities, with $20 billion of investment cited by the airline. That announcement did not name Krakow.

The Beyond Borders item is useful only as a same-day corporate backdrop. It does not, by itself, explain why Krakow is listed until 29 December 2027. This article treats AeroRoutes’ Krakow file as the news and the AirlineGeeks campaign report as attributed context. No additional European cities are added here from memory.

As a tentative 2027 file, the extra months and the four-weekly summer peak can still change in later OAG or Cirium updates. Travellers looking at 2027 Krakow dates should treat 29 December 2027 as the current last listed day, not a guaranteed last flight. Anyone searching for an Etihad A321LR product on this route should also remember that 32Q in the AeroRoutes file is an equipment code, not a photograph of a specific registration.

Four weekly A321LR flights in high summer, then a listed tail through 29 December, is a longer season than a typical June-to-September leisure tag. AeroRoutes still called the extension tentative. This article therefore does not tell readers to book 2027 Krakow as if the last day were frozen. It also does not merge the story with Etihad’s North America seat-count roundup published the same day by Simple Flying, which is a different geography and a different aircraft mix. Krakow in this file is an A321LR, not an A350, 787 or A380.

EY163’s 02:45 Abu Dhabi departure is an early-morning Gulf departure that arrives Krakow at breakfast time. EY164’s 11:20 return lands Abu Dhabi at 19:00. Those times are in the AeroRoutes listing. No block-time commentary beyond the printed schedule is added. If Etihad later files a different day-of-week pattern, the x257 code in the 31 August snapshot would no longer apply.
