Saudi low-cost carrier flynas is adding another Pakistani destination to its network. From 9 September 2026 the airline will fly three times a week between Dammam and Karachi, using the Airbus A320neo.
The new service is scheduled as XY900, departing Dammam at 18:30 and arriving in Karachi at 00:15 the following morning, operating on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. The return, XY901, leaves Karachi at 01:05 and lands back in Dammam at 02:55, operating Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Eastern Province To Pakistan
Dammam's King Fahd International Airport serves Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province, the heart of the kingdom's oil industry and home to one of the largest expatriate workforces in the Gulf. Pakistan is among the biggest source countries for that workforce, which makes DammamβKarachi a classic visiting-friends-and-relatives and labour-mobility market rather than a leisure play.
The late-evening outbound and overnight return are typical of the way low-cost carriers work these routes. The pattern lets the aircraft finish a full day of domestic and regional flying before heading east, then be back on the ground in Dammam before the morning bank, so the route is absorbed into the existing rotation without tying up an airframe for a full day.
The A320neo On A Four-Hour Sector
The A320neo is well suited to the sector. The route is a little over three hours in each direction, comfortably inside the type's range, and the fuel burn advantage of the LEAP-powered neo matters on a price-sensitive market where fares are thin and load factors have to be high.
flynas has been steadily building its Pakistan network alongside other Gulf low-cost carriers, and the region has seen a run of new Saudi and Pakistani route announcements in recent weeks. Competition on GulfβPakistan flying has intensified accordingly, with capacity increasingly split between full-service legacy operators and low-cost carriers offering point-to-point service at lower fares.
What To Watch
Three weekly frequencies is a cautious opening. If demand holds through the winter season, the natural next step would be a move to daily service, or the addition of a second Pakistani point from Dammam. For now, travellers in the Eastern Province gain a direct option that previously required a connection through Riyadh, Jeddah or one of the larger Gulf hubs.
