PROS launches Kairos airline retailing platform with product and inventory tools

PROS has launched Kairos, an airline retailing platform that combines pricing tools, commercial data and artificial intelligence in a shared workspace. The October 12 announcement introduces a new way for airline commercial teams to access information and manage their work across PROS applications.

The company says the workspace adapts to an analyst’s role, permissions and responsibilities, while retaining personal settings between sessions. A conversational interface allows users to request information and insights in everyday language. PROS is using Databricks as the platform’s underlying data and AI foundation, with the aim of reducing manual work between applications.

On data integration, the company says Databricks can connect market, customer-behavior and operational data while allowing airlines to retain their existing data environments. PROS also describes an orchestration layer designed to coordinate specialized agents through Model Context Protocol connections. These architectural features are intended to give commercial analysis and future automation more context.

Product and inventory tools lead the rollout

The initial focus is Product Catalog and Stock Keeper. According to PhocusWire’s launch report, these are new capabilities requiring new commercial agreements. Kairos does not immediately replace existing PROS products, and current customer agreements do not change automatically. Existing products will be brought into the platform progressively, making the rollout a staged expansion of the supplier’s commercial software offering.

Product Catalog provides a central place to define flights, ancillary services and bundles, along with the rules governing how they can be sold. PROS describes controls for product eligibility, combinations, refundability and other commercial conditions. The tool can accept airline, ATPCO and third-party product data, supporting connections with both newer retailing systems and established airline technology. The documentation also describes AI assistance for product descriptions and naming, together with recommendations for bundles. Those functions are presented as ways to make product configuration more consistent across different sales channels.

Stock Keeper addresses availability. Its inventory records cover airline products, supplier allocations and bundles, with counters for stock available, offered for sale, ordered or waitlisted. PROS says the tool supplies current capacity information to offer creation, pricing and order-management systems. It can operate independently or within a wider retailing setup, and retains an audit trail of inventory changes.

A broader commercial platform

The company’s platform overview sets out four areas: product management, offer optimization, offer construction and offer marketing. Together, these cover defining products, evaluating price and value against demand and capacity, assembling offers, and promoting them through digital channels. The architecture is intended to let airlines choose individual capabilities and connect them with systems and partners they already use.

The same overview identifies Kai as the platform’s assistant. PROS presents it as a way to investigate changes in commercial performance and receive recommendations while retaining control of decisions. That places the software in the work of airline analysts and retailing teams, whose tasks include understanding demand and deciding how products should be offered.

Further AI capabilities are planned

PROS plans to extend intelligent agents into dynamic pricing, shopping, group sales and offer marketing. Those extensions form part of the announced roadmap. The launch follows the company’s February decision to focus exclusively on travel retailing.
