Air Canada launched seasonal nonstop service between Montreal (YUL) and Palma de Mallorca, Spain, on June 17, 2026, deploying the Airbus A321XLR on the new transatlantic route.
The service operates four times weekly through October 24, 2026. With the launch, Air Canada becomes the second North American carrier to serve Palma de Mallorca, following United Airlines, which has operated a seasonal Newark–Palma route since 2022, and the first Canadian airline to fly to the Balearic island.
Air Canada's A321XLR is configured with 182 seats, including 14 lie-flat business-class "signature" suites — the carrier's first widebody-style premium cabin on a single-aisle aircraft. The A321XLR's range of roughly 4,700 nautical miles lets airlines fly transatlantic missions with single-aisle economics that previously required widebody jets.
The Montreal–Palma launch is among the first dedicated routes for Air Canada's growing A321XLR fleet. The carrier has 30 of the type on order, with up to 10 expected to arrive during 2026, as it expands narrowbody service into traditionally widebody transatlantic markets.
