easyJet Adds Rennes Flights to Milan Malpensa and London Luton for Summer 2027

easyJet will add two new international routes from Rennes in Brittany next summer, linking the city with Milan Malpensa and London Luton. Rennes Bretagne Airport announced the services on October 13, 2026, and tickets for both routes are due to go on sale on October 15, 2026.

The two new routes

The Milan link is the larger of the two. easyJet will fly between Rennes and Milan Malpensa twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays, from May to September 2027, with the first flight scheduled for May 7, 2027. According to the airport, it will be the first time the Lombardy capital has been served from Rennes, and it restores a direct link between Rennes and Italy for the first time in ten years.

The London route is a peak-summer service. easyJet will operate between Rennes-Saint-Jacques and London Luton twice a week, on Wednesdays and Sundays, during July and August, starting on July 1, 2027. "The new route will begin on July 1st 2027 and tickets will be available from October 15th 2026," an easyJet spokesman told The Local.

Rennes already has a link to London Gatwick, so the Luton flights give travellers a second London airport option during the busiest weeks of the summer.

Why Rennes wants the flights

For the airport, the London service works in both directions. "This new route has a double bonus - making it easier to take trips to the UK and making Brittany more attractive to British tourists," an airport spokesman told The Local. Brittany is a popular holiday region for British visitors, and the timing of the Luton flights in July and August targets the main family travel season.

The Milan route opens a market that Rennes has not served before. A twice-weekly Monday and Friday pattern is well suited to short breaks and long weekends, as well as to visiting friends and family, in both directions.

Rennes Bretagne Airport is operated by the CCI Ille-et-Vilaine chamber of commerce and Vinci Airports. The airport says the two additions reflect its ambition to put Rennes on a path of ambitious and sustainable growth, and it has set out longer-term plans for modernisation and new routes.

Airport director Yannick Bouiller said the routes were the result of several months of work between the airport's teams and easyJet to identify new opportunities and build a schedule that meets travellers' needs.

Fitting into easyJet's network

Both destinations are major easyJet bases. London Luton is the airline's home airport, and Milan Malpensa is one of its largest operations in continental Europe. That means the new Rennes flights can be operated by aircraft and crews already based at each end, and they connect Brittany to two airports where easyJet already offers a wide choice of onward short-haul flights on its own network.

The announcement comes as easyJet is being selective about capacity. The airline recently said it would trim its winter 2026 schedule further as jet fuel prices stay high, so seasonal, twice-weekly additions like these, timed for the strongest summer months, fit a cautious approach to growth for 2027.

easyJet has not said which aircraft will operate the Rennes flights. The airline flies an all-Airbus A320-family fleet.

What to watch

Exact flight times will appear when bookings open on October 15. The real test for both routes will be how well they sell in their first season, which will decide whether easyJet extends the Milan service beyond September or adds more frequencies to London in future summers.
